By utilizing Memjet™’s Sirius print engine, the L901 Plus Label Printer has the ability to service and maintain the printhead “on-the-fly.” One advantage of this is that the printer does not need to cut or release the web in order to cap the printhead between print jobs like other Afinia Memjet™ Label Printers (such as the Afinia L801’s Memjet™ North Star print engine). This new print engine makes the Afinia L901 Plus perfect for long roll-to-roll print jobs or inline integration with label finishers, applicators, dispensers and more.

Producing vibrant full-color prints in high resolution, the Afinia L901 Plus utilizes Memjet™’s optimized ink formula (known as Memjet™ VersaPass N or “Niagara” Ink) which delivers improved UV- and water-resistance, as well as deeper blacks, a wider color gamut and a longer printhead life². Large print volumes are now more economical, with five high-capacity 250 mL CMYKK ink cartridges delivering an ultra-low cost per label. The Afinia L901 Plus is essentially the same label printer as Afinia L901 except that it is designed to use the newer Memjet™ VersaPass N ink formula.

Watershield™ Technology for Water-Resistant Labels

Watershield-printed labels are significantly more water-resistant and resistant to the effects of prolonged moisture exposure¹ than conventional dye-based inkjet printed labels. This makes the Afinia L901 Plus Label Printer perfect for medium-run and long-run label print jobs used for applications such as chilled beverages, refrigerated or frozen foods, chemical or pharmaceutical products. Besides producing deeper blacks, wider color gamut and prolong the life of the printhead², this VersaPass N ink technology by Memjet™ also uses more responsibly-sourced inks³ that are better for the environment.
